Psalm 133:1 states “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in UNITY.” Yet, our country is one of disunity, in which we are fractured along every conceivable line. Is it any wonder this is the case given that the 21st century American church, by and large, is also one not of unity but of disunity and fracture among every conceivable line (social, racial, denominational)? Given that judgment is to start at the house of the Lord, we at Crossway believe it’s high time the church “knock it off”!! Given there is ONE body, ONE Spirit, ONE hope, ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God & Father of all (Eph. 4:4-6) and that we are commanded to be “eager to maintain the UNITY of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3) we have taken action! Since November 2014, we have come together, across racial & denominational barriers, with our sister church, Redeeming The Time Gospel Ministry COGIC, a congregation of African-American brothers & sisters, in a Unity Service every 2 months. As we come together, we do so in a time of fellowship and worship and breaking of bread (figuratively as each pastor preaches the Word of God and literally as each member partakes in a meal together on the grounds after the service). We do this that we might bring healing not only to our churches & communities & nation but also that we might be an example to the same that “God shows no partiality” (Rom. 2:11) and we “are all ONE in Christ Jesus” (Gal. 3:28).
A youth led traveling service that is every 2nd and 4th Sunday evening of each month during the school year. Various churches in the Big Hatchie Baptist Association and other churches in the area will host the service. 5:30 p.m. snacks & fellowship, 6:00 p.m. worship.
